Get Involved!

Amaya Papaya is all about community! Every month we give back through our Get Involved Campaign.

The GET INVOLVED Campain is an effort created by Amaya Papaya's founder. GET INVOLVED encourages the Amaya Papaya community to GET INVOLVED in local community projects and beyond by helping to raise awareness about causes that affect women, children and families.

This effort helps to raise funds, food, clothing and other items needed to help our community thrive.

As parents we want our children to learn the value of sharing with one another and the importance of giving instead of always receiving. Children are such sponges at this age, they learn so much by what we teach them. If we begin to teach them now about giving back to their community they will learn how to be great philanthropist as adults.

Please join Amaya Papaya as we teach our children to "GET INVOLVED"!

If you have a suggestion for a GET INVOLDED project please contact us.

Amaya Papaya Virtual Race

This virtual 5K/10K run and walk was created to help Amaya Papaya Play Lounge recover from a recent theft.  Yolonda, the owner of Amaya Papaya loves to run and has always wanted to come up with a creative way to encourage parents and caregivers to become active.  Always a believer of the philosophy “when life throws you lemons make lemonade” Yolonda came up with this virtual event to recover funds and property damaged or stolen from her business on April 18, 2013.  Always a visionary for the future Yolonda hopes to make this an annual event to help offset the cost of toy replacement and create a Day of Play Scholarship Fund for local families that cannot afford to play at Amaya Papaya.

PLAY TIME Scholarship fund

Bags of Hope Central Florida is a 501 (C) 3 Non Profit Charity.

They were founded in February of 2009 by Rhonda and Mark Santolin.

This is truly a charity run by people (all of whom are volunteers) and for people.

The weekly program delivers food care packages and books to children who are identified by their school as demonstrating daily hunger due to homelessness/displacement or severe poverty.

These children are not able to concentrate in class due to this hunger and have a tendency to fall behind and eventually drop out of school- creating a high potential for homelessness, poverty and potential crime among other unfavorable conditions.

Amaya Papaya is a Food and Book Drop off location

In January 2012 we began working on an ongoing project that directly affects the children in the AP neighborhood. The children in the city of Casselberry, specifically children at Casselberry Elementary were featured on 60 minutes last year due to the rise in homelessness in Central Florida. From that story parents, local businesses, non-profits, local churches, teachers and neighbors from the community banded together to form the Casselberry Community Task Force.
The Task Forces purpose is to reduce hunger and homelessness in families in Casselberry.

One of the cool things that has been developed through the task force is the Care Cabin located on the campus of Casselberry Elementary School.

The Care Cabin is a place were families in need can go to collect food and clothing.
AP is a DROP-OFF location for Clothing items for the children in need

The items collected will be dropped off monthly at the Casselberry Care Cabin located @ Casselberry Elementary School.
We will NOT have a special offer for donations that are dropped off, we simply hope that you will want to GET INVOLVED and help OUR children.
